The Gevalia brewer gives you the flexibility to vary the number of pods used along with the amount of water (6, 8 or 12 oz.) used to brew the beverage. You may have to try several combinations to find the best strength for your personal taste.
Examples: If you have brewed a cup using one pod with the 8 oz. brew setting and the cup tastes too weak, then you can either try using two Gevalia pods at the same brew setting or continue to use one pod but select the 6 oz. setting. If you have brewed a cup using two pods with the 8 oz. setting and the Gevalia coffee tastes too strong, try using one pod at the same brew setting or use two pods at the 12 oz. setting. For minor adjustments in strength, you can dilute the strength of the cup by pressing the 6 oz. button after the initial brew cycle is completed and allow some additional hot water to flow through the coffee pod until you reach the desired strength. You MUST press the On/Off button to stop the flow of water when you're done. If you do not press the On/Off button, the Gevalia brewer will not stop until the full brew cycle is completed and another 6 oz are produced. The instructions for this manual Gevalia volume addition are also printed out on the yellow one page letter which came with your brewer.
